September Principal Update

QUEST Families,

I hope this message finds you well and filled with excitement as we prepare to embark on a new school year at QUEST. We were thrilled to welcome our students back to school last week, and we are equally excited to welcome you, our valued families, back into our school community.

Links on the Blog

For those new to QUEST, our blog is sent out monthly and is meant to serve as a one-stop-shop of all things QUEST. Please notice the links at the top, which includes meaningful links for you, the family. Looking to celebrate a staff member at QUEST? There's a link! Looking to connect with Food Service? There's a link! Check them out at your convenience (imagine below, but links at the top!).

As always, if you think we need to add something to our blog to make it better for all, please do not hesitate to reach out. We value your feedback!

Back-to-School Night
Speaking of feedback, last year you spoke and we heard! In light of this, next week is our Back-to-School Night. As mentioned in our summer blog, this replaces the traditional information night, and ice cream is available as well! Did we mention that we also will have the Book Fair here?

We hope to see you there! Please note that teachers will be available in their rooms from 6-7 (and then Mr. Warren sends them home to their families!).

There is a lot of good information this month in our blog. Please check-it-out, and as always, reach out if there is anything we can do to better serve your family. This is going to be a great year.

Warm Regards,
Derek Warren

Library News

 Greetings QUEST families!

My name is Mrs. Shippers, and I am the new librarian at QUEST. I am originally from the Hilton area and am excited to be here! We kicked off library classes on the first day of school and I am enjoying getting to know your readers.

Students will come to the library once a week for a story, mini-lesson and check out time. They are also encouraged to return during the week to exchange for more books if they want!

How many books students may checkout each week:

UPK/Kindergarten – 1 book

Primary/Elementary – 2 books

Intermediate- 3 books

I encourage students to check out books of their choice. We will have lessons about how to find a book and how to look through it to make sure they want it. Students are responsible for returning their books each week so they can check out new books. Please encourage your learner to keep their library books in a safe place, separate from other books in your home. If an accident occurs and a book does get damaged, please do not try to repair it yourself. Send it back to school with a note (or email me at the address below) and I will do everything possible to fix it. If it cannot be repaired or the book is lost, please reach out.

Let's have a great year 🙂

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. I’m excited to share books with your learner!

QUEST Chorus

Dear Elementary and Intermediate Parents,

It’s time for chorus sign-ups, and your child has expressed an interest in joining the QUEST Elementary School Chorus this year. I am happy to have them! Below you will find all of the necessary information.

Chorus meets on TUESDAYS and FRIDAYS from 7:30AM to 8:40AM. We will start rehearsals on TUESDAY, October 3, 2023!  Rehearsals will take place in the auditorium.

In order to participate, your child may need to take an early bus to the high school, where they will transfer to the QUEST shuttle bus. If your child will be using this service, please CLICK HERE to fill out the google form so I can pass the information to the Transportation Department. The Transportation Department will then send out a letter regarding early bussing prior to our first rehearsal on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. If you choose to drive your child, please have them at school between 7:25 and 7:30AM. (Please do not send them earlier, no one will be here to let them in or watch them.)

Our concerts will be on the following dates and locations:

Winter Concert: Wednesday, December 6, 2023 @ Hilton High School

Spring Concert: Wednesday, May 29, 2024 @ Hilton High School

Thank you for your support of your child’s musical interests. I look forward to a great year with your young singer. Please don’t hesitate to email me with any questions you may have. skohler@hilton.k12.ny.us

Musically Yours,

Mrs. Kohler
