Principal Update
QUEST Families,
Happy New Year! I hope mid-January finds you staying committed to your goals, and that you and your family are healthy and happy. Your friends here at QUEST are doing all we can to ensure that 2022 starts on a positive note. Please notice the many updates below and, as always, please reach out with any questions.
Now Accepting Kindergarten Applications for 2022-2023
Do you have a child coming to K next year? Please be sure to turn in an application by the end of this month. Although your child is guaranteed a spot if you have family history, we still use this application as an official heads up that you will be sending your child to school with us. The application can be found by using this link.
Many families that fill out the applications indicate that they have chosen QUEST as an option due to input from current QUEST families. Word of mouth matters, clearly, and we appreciate your efforts in spreading the good. Our school prides itself on partnerships, so thank you in advance for spreading the word as we look to bring in prospective QUEST students for next year.
Sled Race
I had the joy this past weekend of overhearing numerous conversations about the sled race from my own children, and I know that the students at large are quite excited. For those new to QUEST, students construct sleds and compete in a tournament style approach. Constructing the sleds ties into science, technology, and mathematics learning standards; more than that, students are asked to create, collaborate, and problem solve in order to succeed. Sled Race is a fan favorite and is set to be held on January 21st here at QUEST. Fingers crossed we get a bit more snow!
PTSO Help Needed
Our school, and the traditions within, are made stronger thanks to our PTSO. We need your help in keeping this group healthy and strong! Next year we have two co-chair positions and a treasurer position open. Please reach out to questptso@gmail.com if you are willing to step into one of these roles. Our students and staff appreciate the support!
A Generous Thank You!
COVID has made many lives harder and it has had an impact on many industries. Education has felt this and, as a result, schools have been asked to serve many functions. The QUEST staff appreciates all of you for your constant support. Please join me in thanking our school nurse, our staff, and our teachers for all they are doing to keep us moving forward despite the numerous obstacles. Thanks for being our partner through the ups and downs. We appreciate you.
Be well,
Derek Warren
Proud QUEST Principal

What’s Happening in Spanish?
We are beginning our health and body planner called Me cuido a mi cuerpo (I take care of my body). We use lots of songs and dances to learn body parts in Spanish. Starting in Primary, we learn how to tell someone something hurts us. We also look into questions and suggestions to help others who may not be feeling well. In this planner, Elementary and Intermediate students work on listening skills. Kindergarten and primary friends work on building vocabulary.
Here are some links to videos that can help strengthen vocabulary:
