Principal Update

Families,

Spring is almost here! Many of our learners walked into school extra tired on Monday, but it is well worth it for the extra hour of sunlight in the evening. As our learning community moves toward spring, there will be a lot of school events to enjoy, and these events provide an opportunity for our school to live out the school-wide value of community. We hope to see you around!

State Testing

On April 19-20th, our students in grades 3-6 will take the ELA state exam. Although the idea of state testing comes with mixed emotions for many, we use the data that this testing provides to best support our students as a school community.

The math test will occur on May 2nd and May 3rd!

Inquiry at Home

Earlier this year, I challenged our learning community to consider what inquiry might look like at home. To take that a step further, I wanted to share the graphic below that illustrates the process of a person inquiring. Our brains inquire naturally when we are young, but a home environment that fosters curiosity is one where lifelong learning can thrive. Consider the visual below; I challenge all of us to find ways to make inquiry part of our conversations at home.

Enjoy the blog this month!

Sincerely,

Derek Warren
