QUEST Families,
Happy December! 2020 has been a year to remember, and for many of us seeing 2021 on the horizon is stirring up feelings of hope and optimism. As I reflect back on 2020, I can't help but feel an enormous amount of gratitude for all the efforts that have gone into making this year all it could be. As a school community, we stepped up to the plate and made it about the kids. Thank you for partnering with us this year, and thanks for all you do to send us happy, healthy, and well-adjusted learners.
A few business need-to-knows:
- We are officially accepting applications for K for the 21-22 school year. If you have family history and have a student coming to K next year, please still turn one in. This helps us know who is coming to QUEST for sure. In addition, if you know of a future Hilton K student please be sure to suggest QUEST to them. One of the strongest advertisements for our school is word of mouth, so your endorsement is beyond appreciated!
- Just a friendly reminder that if you drop your student off each day, once you no longer see me standing there in the am, please send your child in through the security door. We have had a couple instances of students being dropped off after we have finished arrival, and we want to be sure all students enter in a safe and secure way. Thanks so much!
- The new year will bring with it our annual PTSO fundraiser, We recognize that not everyone is able to give through the fundraiser, however, we appreciate all the PTSO does to support traditions, staff, and school-wide events. Be on the lookout for the fundraiser after the break!
I close by sharing a page and quote from a recent book that was shared with me by a QUEST teacher. This book was profound in its simplicity, and this particular page reminded me of this past year. 2020 was all about getting through change together. Opening schools was scary. Trusting the school with your child's safety for the first time amid a pandemic was scary. Figuring out remote learning and finding a balance was, well, hard and scary. Whether your child is in person or remote, we all had to face fears this year. Yet despite all of that, it was a little easier together. Working together is what QUEST is all about, and there is no better example of a school community rising up together than what we went through, together, this year. We should all be proud--the kids are doing well!
Have yourself an incredible break. Unplug, live in the moment, and enjoy the time together as a family. Thanks again for sending us such awesome kids.
Respectfully,
Derek Warren
Principal
